The Pumpkin and the Peanut

Heres a little teaser for all of you hopeful authors and illustrators out there.

I thought this was a cute idea, so I ran with it.
Sure it's a little green, but that's why we post things like this up here, to get feedback from (hopefully) individuals that know better.

So without further adu, here is the Tale of

The Pumpkin and the Peanut Princess

Once upon a time, there was a little Peanut Princess who never smiled.
Luckily, her enchanted pumpkin friend, named Mel, smiled for her.
The Peanut Princess would not smile until her missing red shoe was found.

Mel, the enchanted Pumpkin, searched, and searched the magical harvest land for the Princess's missing shoe, but found nothing.

The Princess and the Pumpkin decided to rest on a comfy bail of hay while they thought about who, just who could help them find that shoe.

Now is the fun part.

Write in your ideas for the next part of the story. I want to put this in Madison's "memory album" and whomever would like to contribute to the story is invited to share their ideas!

I'll pick my favorites and compile the "finished" story on my blog for everyone to see!

I'm looking forward to seeing your creativity!!!!

Of course it's a cheap plug for my adorable, pudge of a daughter.

You know you'd do the same thing! And if you do, I promise to write for your story - whether you want me to or not!

One day, Mel developed a horrible skin condition and he knew that his days were numbered.

"Maddy," he said, "I have a horrible secret to share with you before I die. I sold your missing shoe to a man riding an orange tractor, to a land called West Allis. To get it back, you must travel through the 'Circle of Death' and defeat the mighty Bloggers."

Mel sighed and then remained quiet forever. Princess Maddy realized that she had a long journey ahead of her, for West Allis is a land far, far away and full of many strange peoples.

What a great turn of events!
I didn't see that coming from you!

I take it the man on the orange tractor is the villan, right?

It's up to whoever writes that part. He could be an evil, he could be wearing a cape, or he could be made of chocolate...

Someone else needs to step up and write the next part of the story. If I could possibly be represented by the character on the orange tractor, I think I would take the opportunity to defend my honor...

With a tear in her eye and a heavy heart, Maddy trod off towards the land of West Allis.

It wasn't till she reached the end of the corn row that she noticed the Golden Hair God perched atop his green throne. "You mustn't fret about your looted shoe," heralded the Adonis, gazing down upon her. "Red really wasn't you're color. And orange isn't ANYONE'S color."

"Take these," he said, handing her his own shoes." Go Green. And be not unhappy evermore."
